Range of Biodegradable Food PackagingBiochoice-Product-Shot.jpg

As consumers become more environmentally conscious, we are continually challenged to deliver food packaging solutions that utilise biodegradable raw materials. This is why we introduced our BioChoice® range of utensils.

Durable Natural Food Packaging

Our BioChoice® range offers a wide variety of natural plastic-like utensils including plates, trays, bowls, containers and cups that:

  • Are water proof and oil proof
  • Are sturdy enough for repeated use
  • Have versatile applications
  • Can be film-sealed for prepared food applications
  • Are cost effective

The BioChoice® range offers two distinct biodegradable food packaging options:

PLA Utensils. These are made from Polylactide (PLA), which is a 100% biodegradable resin derived from corn sugar or dextrose that comes from starch based plants. The dextrose is fermented and distilled into lactic acid. The lactic acid is then transformed into natural plastic-like resin called PLA, which is durable enough to withstand freezer conditions. At Bonson-Savpac we pride ourselves on only serving PLA packaging produced by Natureworks LLC, which originates from renewable plantations.

BioUtensils are made from a pulp material derived from sugar cane and then converted into food grade disposable plastic-like utensils.  Our BioUtensils also originate from renewable plantations and are 100% biodegradable; degrading completely within 90 days under normal compostable conditions.  BioUtensils are incredibly durable. Not only can they withstand freezer conditions, they are also microwave safe and can safely be reheated in conventional ovens.
